Duties

Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, scrubs, washes and polishes fixtures and furniture, walls, lanai glass and doors, equipment and furnishings and using a variety of cleaning solutions, chemicals, and cleaning equipment and supplies. Makes beds and changes out bedspreads, blankets, and linens and add extra pillows as required. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes bathrooms. Changes out and refolds towels. Remove stains from basins and toilets. Remove mildew from tub and shower. Clean toilet edges. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para 2.
• Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Required standing and walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items. The wheeled utility cart can weigh up to 269 pounds.
• Works is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors, and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions.
• Care is required to avoid serious injury when working on ladders to clean hard to reach places and when moving furniture or using powered equipment.

Qualifications

Prior work experience that provided the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean. Must possess good customer service skills in order to interact with people. Preferred is responsible work experience in the hospitality industry that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties as stated above with minimal supervision.
