Duties

You will be responsible for preparation and/or administration of land use studies and reviews, sector plan studies, urban design evaluations, economic analysis or of development projects. You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of special projects documentation for the M2R2 progam. You will be responsible for developing long and short term space management plans for the command and its tenant activities. You will be responsible for analyzing the facility requirements and existing conditions to develop alternative courses of action. You will research and develop databases, text files and computer aided designs for base facilities and infrastructure.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing the full range of utility services, facility maintenance, engineering, planning, design and construction, and facility services contracting to sustain and improve base facilities and related infrastructure. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Basic Education Requirement:

1. Degree: community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.

   Note: Applicants with degrees in related fields, such as those listed above, who do not have the 12 semester hours of specified course work must have had at least 1 year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner.

2. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
