You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in The Judge Advocate General (JAG) of NLSC.

Duties

You will provide oversight of the physical security program. You will serve as a security specialist, responsible for echelon III Command oversight in physical security. You will provide subject matter expertise in program planning, policy, requirements, procedures, and replacement of electronic security systems. You will review and monitor derogatory reports generated in NBIS. You will plan for and provide leadership and direction for development of JAGC’s security education program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience demonstrates performing duties such as the following: 1) Providing authoritative security program guidance involving Physical, Personnel, Information, Operations, and Industrial Security based on regulations and policy; 2) Resolving issues involving conflicting security requirements as needed; 3) Administering portions of the Personnel Security Programs; and 4) Assisting in the development of security education programs and delivering training. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion three full years of progressively higher level graduate
OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
