Duties

This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG) Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. Area 1 = All permanent Enlisted employees (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 2 = All indefinite Enlisted employees (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 3 = Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates). To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor. Acceptance of any military technician position may cause the termination of entitlements and eligibility for all military bonuses and student loan repayments. DUTIES: As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (D0561000), GS-2005-6, you will provide services in support of inventory control, storage, and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primary sedentary, however, there may be walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items and/or files. No special physical demands required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed indoors in an environment requiring normal safety precautions typical of an office setting. The area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower-level GS-05 or the equivalent TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as reviewing existing stock catalogs and drawings; maintaining contact with program representatives and other offices on special program requirements; reviewing requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material; inventorying management of decentralized and decontrolled items; working experience in one or more automated supply databases and the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced; establishing supply regulations, policies and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
