Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations, Forensic Services Division as a Student Trainee (Physical Science) will allow you to perform developmental duties to enhance the knowledge of physical science functions that support work operations within the Forensic Services Division. The Student Trainee (Physical Science) position starts at $45,146 (GS-5, step 1), with promotion potential to $88,926 (GS-9, step 10).

Qualifications

GS-5: You qualify for the GS-5 level (starting salary $45,146) if you possess the following:  Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree  GS-7: You qualify for the GS-7 level (starting salary $55,924) if you possess the following:  1 full year of graduate level education; or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor’s degree  Students must maintain student eligibility and enrollment throughout the duration of the appointment (Applicants must be actively enrolled at an accredited institution). Applicants that have graduated or will graduate prior to the completion of the program are ineligible to participate without proof of future enrollment in an accredited university.  This position supports the Office of Investigations and candidates seeking degrees in Math and Science such as Biology, Chemistry and Forensic Science are preferred to receive direct experience that aligns with their academic course of study.
