As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Incumbent will serve as an Operations Manager at the Kenai Flight Service Station, Kenai, Alaska.
Duties
You will serve as an Operations Manager in a Flight Service Station (FSS) facility and will be responsible for establishing policies and procedures which apply to day-to-day operations. Maintains a keen awareness of the overall operational effectiveness. Provides first-line supervision to assigned Front Line Managers and second-line supervision to Air Traffic Control Specialists. Provides training, coaching and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout the areas of responsibility. Reviews work processes to ensure results meet the agency's mission and the customer's needs. Serves as a member of the management team to ensure organizational performance meets agency goals.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- First page of FAA 3330-43 (unrated) must be submitted.
- One year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be requried.
- Position is designated as Moderate Risk; a background investigation may be required
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV I, FG/GS 13. Specialized experience is experience in an air traffic facility which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the level of work of the advertised position. This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules and regulations.Applicants must be FSS facility rated or previously have held a facility rating in an AFSS or FSS. Applicants must indicate in their application package that they have held or currently have this rating. Applicants may be deemed ineligible if this is not clearly stated in your application package.The FAA 3330-43 (unrated) is a required form which will be used when making qualifications determination.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of announcement.
