This is a regular part-time position (20-39 hours) with eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans.

Duties
Must be able to serve as a lead lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools to employ safety rules for the protection of the pool guests and work under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager.
Ensures the safe operation of the pool, filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water test.
Responsible for teaching aquatic swimming and water survival training.
Distributes and balances work- load, leads the work of other employees, provides leadership, guidance and oversight in program operations and provides on-the job training to new employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- A pre-employment occupational physical with a vision screening is required for this position.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to work weekends, weekdays, holidays and night duty, as well as irregular duties or when needed for special events and related requirements.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good physical health, freedom from communicable disease IAW current Army policy.
- Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
- Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
- Lead lifeguards must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking. Conducts safety/health rule briefings to groups prior to use of the pool.
- Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Possess and have the ability to maintain a Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent e.g. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS) certificate.
2. Possess and have the ability to maintain an American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent certifications (American Heart Association CPR/AED and First Aid).
3. Possess and have the ability to maintain one or more of the following Instructor ratings: American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGTI) authorization, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) authorization, Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor authorization (AEA), or Adapted Aquatic Instructor authorization.
