Duties

You will fabricate various test devices, electronic and mechanical, for instructional purposes. You will develop new experimental systems and demonstration units for a variety of engineering laboratories, including Mechanical Engineering Experimentation, Mechanical Vibrations, Ocean Engineering Structures, or other labs. You will determine test procedures and make design changes to improve test equipment and related accessories. You will set up, calibrate, and operate mechanical/electronic equipment associated with various engineering labs,

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying theories and techniques of engineering to assist and direct students to solve design problems; Collecting and analyzing data to be used in technical papers and/or publications; Reading, interpreting and generating complex mechanical drawings. Education

Applicants that do not meet the specialized experience as described above may qualify with the following education:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution

OR

Successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution.
