Primary purpose is to provide editorial support to A-10C, EC-130H, and Rescue Operational Training Development Teams (formal course syllabi/training manuals/multimedia training programs/CBT outlines/formal course grade sheets/training handouts/lesson plans/instructor guides/course critiques/graduate eval questionnaires) and to provide supervision to Editorial Assistants.
Duties
Edits training materials to ensure conformance with current policies regarding format and content.
Provides advice and assistance to commanders, contractors, supervisors, and employees regarding HQ ACC requirements.
Prepare training publications for printing and electronic distribution.
Supervises the work of military and civilian personnel.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Writing and Editing Series 1082.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Use various editorial processes and techniques to edit documents by reorganizing them completely or in part to assure sequential organization in addition to the restructuring of sentences and paragraphs and to organize, format, develop and produce training documents for worldwide distribution; Use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and preferred English usage to accurately prepare and edit training documents and correspondence; Apply methods, techniques and practices in planning layout of copy, printing processes and familiarity with terminology, acronyms, and abbreviations unique to tactical flying programs; Use various office automation software programs, tools and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as syllabi, manuals, lesson plans, graduate evaluation questionnaires, computer-based grade sheets, templates, tables, flowcharts, course maps and graphics; Apply knowledge of editing training materials to ensure conformance with current policies; Ability to plan, organize work, monitor progress, review finished product in detail, justify requirements and coordinate support requirements with outside agencies to meet deadlines; and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION: A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or at least to two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the various editorial processes and techniques to edit documents by reorganizing them completely or in part to assure sequential organization of these sections in addition to the restructuring of sentences and paragraphs. Knowledge of organization, format, development, and production of training documents for worldwide distribution.
2. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling punctuation and preferred English usage is required to accurately prepare and edit training documents and correspondence.
3. Knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices in planning layout of copy, printing processes and familiarity with terminology, acronyms, and abbreviations unique to tactical flying training programs.
4. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as syllabi, manuals, lesson plans, graduate evaluation questionnaires, computer-based grade sheets, templates, tables, flowcharts, course maps and graphics.
5. Knowledge of editing training materials to ensure conformance with current policies.
6. Ability to plan, organize work, monitor progress, review finished product in detail, justify requires, coordinate support requirements with outside agencies and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
