About the Position: This is a GS- 0610-12 Supervisory Nurse (Admin/Ambulatory) position located in Army Health Clinic Fox- Redstone Arsenal. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

oversee the scope of practice and provision of nursing services within the ambulatory clinic. Participate in Department of Nursing meetings/activities to enhance the quality of management practices, policy definition, procedures, and programs. responsible for personnel management to include planning work to be accomplished by subordinates; setting and adjusting short-term priorities and preparing schedules for the completion of work. Explain work requirements, methods, procedures, and instructs subordinates in new procedures and provides advice and guidance when problems arise, or assignments involve new or complex technologies Serve as a clinic nursing subject matter expert and performs direct patient nursing care as needed handle ambulatory care nursing complaints and concerns as appropriate

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • This position requires a pre-employment physical examination; ability to lift up to 40lbs.

  • This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.
  • This position is subject to irregular tours of duty and may require work on, call duties, and evenings, and rotating shifts.

Professional Nursing Experience: One or more full years of professional nursing experience which includes serves as a Supervisory Nurse, performs initial review for specialty referrals and appropriate level of care, and assesses and cleans wounds This definition of professional nursing experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). c Education: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field License: The Nurse occupation requires a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
