About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital, Behavioral Health Department, Agana Heights, Guam.
This position is a Term appointment not to exceed three years. This position may be extended in one year increments up to 6 years and may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition.

Duties
Provide comprehensive clinical therapy and aftercare planning to individual children, adolescents and their families, primarily in a multidisciplinary outpatient clinical setting with a significant child, adolescent, and family population.
Incumbent will provide direct therapeutic services identified by a medical staff and patient need.
Therapeutic services include but not limited to, mental health evaluations and supportive services, comprehensive Patient/Family Assessment; therapy to include individual child therapy, family therapy, group therapy, Group Therapy with Co-therapist.
Actively participates in the child and adolescent treatment program within the multidisciplinary clinic by attending all treatment planning conferences and staff meetings and participating fully as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
incumbent will work directly with community agencies, in particular local schools and their personnel, to provide services in coordination with these agencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Public Law 101-647, Section 231 and Public Law 102-1094 require a successful completion of a criminal history background check to maintain employment.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance in accordance with SECNAV M-5510-30.
- This position is designated as a drug testing designated position (TDP). Incumbent will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- In accordance with DoD Instruction 1402.5, existing and newly hired personnel involved in the delivery of healthcare to children under the age of eighteen-years-old on a frequent and regular basis must receive:
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check State Criminal History Repositories (SCHR) check.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 3 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker:
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing mental health evaluations and supportive services; comprehensive patient and family assessment; therapy to include individual child therapy, family therapy and group therapy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Highly Preferred Licensure and Certification: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. Certifications such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent Management Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Education
