You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC LEADER in the FACILITIES SUSTAINMENT DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will verify job order specifications and standards are upheld by monitoring sheet metal production work.
You will assign sheet metal work in accordance with priorities established by supervisors.
You will demonstrate correct sheet metal work methods, explain steps or processes, and set the pace of the work.
You will instruct sheet metal shop personnel on the implementation of new or improved production techniques.
You will plan, schedule, and coordinate sheet metal shop workload to meet quarterly requirements.
You will report to supervisor on status and progress of work, delays, and other problems that interfere with the sheet metal shop production.
You will work with different metals (e.g., magnesium, honeycomb material, alloys, stainless steel, copper) to complete assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Qualifications

ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE:
1) Operating shop tools and equipment such as hand or powered crimping, burring, turning, and beading machines and soldering and welding equipment;
2) Using measuring instruments used range from rulers and compasses to more complicated devices such as protractors; calipers; and snap ring, height, depth, dial, and screw pitch gauges;
3) Installing, modifying, and/or repairing insulation of duct work.
4) Answering workers questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
