Duties

Performs routine duties of servicing banquets. This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedure requirements than those involved in positions in restaurant, café or bar operations. Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to follow simple oral and written instruction and an understanding of sanitary food and beverage handling techniques and an understanding of food preparation methods of food items. RESPONSIBILITY: Receives close supervision and guidance. Complies with proper procedures, methods, dress and hygiene codes. Performs other duties as assigned.

• WORKING CONDITIONS: Work primarily indoors in areas that usually have adequate light and ventilation. Danger of slipping on wet or polished floors. May occasionally work outdoors during seasonal functions.
• Must be able to work Irregular schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Must meet the state/local age requirement (18 years) for the serving of alcoholic beverages. No prior training or work experience required. Applicants must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions. Highly Preferred Criteria: Possess experience in food service, preferably in catering or banquets. In order to be considered for the highly preferred criteria, your resume must show that you meet ALL the minimum qualifications and ALL highly preferred criteria. Applicants meeting the highly preferred criteria will be considered the best qualified and will be referred to the selecting official first.
