About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US ARMY INTELLIGENCE ANDSECURITY CMD MISSION SUPPORTCOMMAND/ACOFS, G7 FORTBELVOIR, VA 22060.


Serve as Project Officer, Military Intelligence (MI) specialist, and subject-matter specialist with the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) G7 the Emerging Capabilities Division (ECD). Assess multi-discipline, military intelligence capabilities (e.g., sensors, processors, and communications means) in order to meet requirements in future contingencies of maneuver commanders. Conduct coordination with US Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (ICoE) and INSCOM subordinate units. Represent INSCOM or ECD at committees and group meetings at Department of the Army, Joint Service.


  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions.
  • TDY travel may be required 30% or less of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as experience with Intelligence surveillance, reconnaissance, or electronic warfare systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
