Duties

Operates gasoline, diesel, battery, or gas-electric powered landscaping machines. Performs basic maintenance on equipment. Uses different attachments for mower or tractor such as a sweeper or plow for clearing public walking surfaces. Clears walking surfaces in winter using a blower and/or shovel as needed. Salts walkways and staircases as needed. Operates hand-held tools, such as a string trimmer, backpack blower, chain saw and edgers.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) TRACTOR OPERATOR~ without more than normal supervision. Such as, operate various types of lawnmowers to mow and trim areas; utilize tractor attachments to sweep and/or salt walking surfaces; and operating hand-held power tools such as, a string trimmer, backpack blower or edger. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Work Conditions: Work is performed outside, occasionally in bad weather. Operator is constantly exposed to unpleasant noise levels, and vibrations and jolting caused by the mower. Work often exposes operator to extreme temperatures of heat due to long periods in the sum since mower is usually operated in open areas. Operator sits for very long periods of time. Incumbent may be exposed to dust from fertilizers used in work areas. Required to wear appropriated safety gear. Needs to be able to be on their feet working for a full day work. Needs to be able to work on hillsides and on unleveled terrain.
