This position is located in Refugee, Asylum & International Operations, Asylum Division, Newark Asylum Office.
As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the operation and management of major programs of the Asylum Division field office.
Duties
Oversees a major segment of an Asylum Division field office and leads a team of analysts and other staff.
Serves as an expert consultant on broad projects and programs with potentially national impact.
Plans and conducts special studies, provides expert advice to managers, and develops and evaluates policies.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring sophisticated management information systems that focus on long and short range plans.
Provides high-level technical assistance and direct support to upper management and supervisory staff in all matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/12/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/12/2024.
Newark location only: Employment at the Newark Asylum Office provides an exciting opportunity to staff to work in both downtown Newark and our Manhattan Branch. Both locations are accessible through public transportation and travel between the two offices is quick and convenient. While staff members will be assigned to the Newark Branch duty station, employee may be expected to work out of the Manhattan Branch on a rotational, periodic or as needed basis.
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Incorporate qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes and systems;
Conduct technical and administrative briefings to senior management officials, including summary presentations with conclusions, alternatives, and recommendations on national policies, projects, or studies;
Review policies and procedures to determine the impact on operations or conduct evaluative studies to include strengths, weaknesses, and best practices, and make recommendation(s).
