The position is an Aeronautical Information Specialist in the Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service (AOV). Responsible for serving as a recognized technical specialist for aeronautical information functions. Provides advice to AOV management concerning the safety risks associated with airspace utilization, aeronautical, weather and flight information policies and procedures, criteria and waivers.

Duties

The Aeronautical Information Specialist performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Considers the objectives of FAA LOB/SOs when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems. Assignments require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines on topics including data and information management, System Wide Information Management (SWIM), quality management system (QMS), competency management, and aeronautical, weather and flight information.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)

Qualifications

Reference - OPM Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions in conjunction with Individual Occupational Requirements for 1361: Navigational Information Series. To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FV-I or GS/FG-13 level in the Federal service.
