Duties

Responsible for checking library materials in and out and verifies that customers are authorized to use the facility.  Registers new customers and issues library cards.  Explains library rules, regulations, circulation procedures, and entitlements to library customers.  Takes requests for reserves and inter/intra library loans.  Assists customers in locating and utilizing library departments; catalogs and processes incoming items; assesses collection for gaps; improves efficiency and effectiveness of Library programs and services under Library Director¿s guidance.

Qualifications

Must have 1 year of experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic and well-established library procedures related to routine and repetitive aspects of major library functions.  Must have knowledge of the library's on-line computer system.  Must have the ability to operate library equipment such as copying machine, scanners, 3D printers, and computers.  This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.Proven track record in developing programs and services is desirable.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Candidate has the ability to take initiative on assigned projects to align functionality and meet the needs of a dynamic and diverse population.
