About the Position: Duties involve planning, coordinating and evaluating all phases of the ammunition, general supply, and Chemical Defense Equipment (CDE) missions of the depot.

Duties

Reviews requirements established by higher headquarters, current depot work schedules, or other pertinent programming documents, classification and stock status reports, typical procedures, and special directives related to required operations. Reviews depot stock in storage to determine which items and condition codes should be renovated/demilitarized, and upgrades DMWR's for alternative technologies. Prepares and submits solicited and unsolicited bids for workload. Researches explosive limitations, safety requirements, tools, equipment, personnel skills and training needs Determines Ammunition Peculiar Equipment (APE) needed and available, including any requirements for modification or overhaul, and coordinates provision of equipment with sources of supply. Develops maintenance/demilitarization procedures for ammunition, CDE, and container items where no procedures exist. Determines nature of personal protective equipment required for each step in the operation, assesses availability, locates a source of supply, and procures where necessary. Coordinates with Project Managers, Item Managers and Project Officers to ensure shipping and receiving documentation for items are accurate and complete. Provides technical information, specifications and drawings of supplies and equipment needed to the Contracting Office for required purchases, and verifies item descriptions as the technical expert for acquisition. Develops, prepares and staffs Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operations where no procedures are in existence.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 1 Year and 1 Day. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years, depending upon the needs of management.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position may require the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Specialized Experience - GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating and evaluating the ammunition, general supply, and Chemical Defense Equipment (CDE) missions of a depot or installation; planning, scheduling, estimating, expediting, monitoring, and coordinating various munitions activities in the maintenance, renovation, demilitarization, care and preservation, destruction, shipping, receiving, and re-warehousing of stocks; utilizing automated data processing systems such as the Ammunition Information Tracking system (AIT), Army Workload and Performance System (AWPS), and Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), to input, retrieve and update data pertaining to an ammunition production control program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ammunition & Explosives MaterialComputer SkillsCost Estimation and AnalysisMaterial Management GS-09: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). GS-11: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
