You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION in the of NAS KINGSVILLE SEC DET.

Duties

You will plan construction and modification of facilities to address Physical Security and Anti-Terrorism concerns. You will analyze and identify security educational needs of the workforce and weaknesses in the security program to provide solutions. You will develop installation security and Anti-Terrorism plans, emergency action plans, and crisis response plans for a comprehensive security program. You will direct the development of threats, risks, and vulnerability assessments and their integration into an overall Risk Management Plan for the command.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Implementing risk mitigation measures based on the assessment of threats and vulnerabilities; 2) Executing Antiterrorism (AT) program in accordance to policies and procedures; 3) Coordinating with agencies to ensure understanding of antiterrorism security needs of the organization; 4) Developing discrepancy reports of physical security items for repair or replacement. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a Ph.D.

OR

equivalent
doctoral degree.

OR

Have
successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

OR

Have
successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR

Have
a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.

Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.
