About the Position: This position is located at the 30th Medical Group in Vandenberg Air Force Base, Santa Barbara, California.

Duties

Monitor ongoing operations to ensure hardware/software are functioning properly. Perform life cycle management of devices from receiving to disposition. Provide technical assistance to users of systems to minimize computer disruptions. Monitor trouble tickets submitted by customers. Install programs to test of system releases and/or computer upgrades.

Requirements

• This position may include Information Assurance (IA) work as an additional duty. Per DoD 8570.01-Mthe recipient of this additional duty must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• May be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and/or overtime.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, monitoring network systems to ensure proper operation of hardware and software systems, identifying computer hardware and software failures for analysis and resolution, and mitigating vulnerabilities on computer operating systems in support of a medical treatment facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
