About the Position: The position is a full time position with various schedules and located primary at Naval Hospital, Beaufort, South Carolina with rotating weekend and on-call duties.

Duties
Process medication orders by using computerized order entry.
Counsel patients on the proper method to self-administer medications.
Assist with assigning work to subordinates based on priority, difficulty, employee capability and equitable distribution of work.
Prepare reports using automated systems in accordance with operating procedures.
Explain medication characteristics, dosage requirements, and interaction with other drugs to ensure proper treatment.
Assist with advising clinical staff to ensure proper use, handling, and storage of new pharmaceuticals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position and is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may be eligible for Situational/Ad-HOC Telework.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill Prime Source Verification (PSV) requirements and obtain and maintain for the duration of employment in this position.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education AND experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: Minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing oversight of pharmacy operations and personnel in a pharmacy setting.
AND
Education: Successful completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. AND
License/Certification: This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.)
AND
Medical Requirement: This position requires that you be able to distinguish basic colors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
