You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the RESOURCE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of the CENTER FOR SERVICE SUPPORT.

Duties

You will be responsible for performing clerical and technical supply support work. You will procure all supplies, services, and equipment using a Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) in accordance with DoD Simplified Acquisition Procedures. You will determine appropriate procedures to use to obtain goods and services that will fill the requirements, meet delivery schedules, provide best price/values, and conform to acquisition regulations. You will prepare maintain a real time purchase log for tracking and reporting. You will complete training for Defense Travel System (DTS) Reviewer functions and perform review procedures for all Travel Authorizations and Travel Vouchers. You will assist in arranging for Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO) procedures to turn in excess or old unwanted items.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of items 50 pounds or less such as boxes of supplies, copy paper boxes and files is required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting local and DoD supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions to respond to customer inquiries; 2) Reviewing supply requisitions and supporting documents to determine priority, status, changes, and to expedite delivery of urgently required items; 3) Utilizing automated supply databases to enter data, correct information and produce/retrieve reports; and 4) Applying knowledge of Federal Official Travel Business Rules to review actions in Defense Travel System (DTS); and 5) Utilizing the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) contract invoice system to review and track invoices.
