This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight,Marketplace Innovation and Technology Group (MITG).
As a IT Specialist (SYS/ANALYSIS), GS-2210-9, you will serve as an IT Product Specialist for one or more products
varying in size and technical complexity.
Duties
Assist a team that focuses on execution of the product lifecycle using modem solutions for product delivery.
Perform needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business processes, solutions, practices, products, services, or strategies.
Analyze performance data and operating conditions to isolate specific shortfalls and develops innovate methods to overcome system weaknesses.
Evaluate, monitor, or ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures.
Participate in organization-wide groups that help enhance the overall delivery of digital services.

Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

In order to qualify for the GS-09, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
(1) Provide input for the development, analysis, and evaluation of IT procedures and potential products; (2) Reviewing or analyzing IT systems and related policies for federal requirements and compliance; and (3) Developing data driven processes for timely and responsive work products and (4) Consult with stakeholders in the area IT project management for health care related IT systems.

Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-09 level by possessing a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. Related degrees include computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Combination of Experience and Education: Less than one year specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-07) may be combined with qualifying education. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the GS-07 grade level may be used, for this option, to qualify applicants for positions at the grade GS-09. Therefore, only education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education may be used to combine education and experience. The qualifying education must have been in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
