About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility Knox East located at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Duties

Serve as a Supervisory Aircraft Pilot for the United States Aviation Support Facility (ASF). Establish work schedules and priorities for subordinates based on workload. Provide training support in all phases of aviation unit operations, aircraft maintenance and supply functions. Formulate, standardize, and implement comprehensive flight standardization, evaluation and training programs. Responsible for the operation of the USAR Aviation Support Facility for the Army Reserve Aviation Command.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess a current first class medical certificate in accordance with FAA regulations at the time of appointment.
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • This position requires an annual medical examination.
  • This position requires a secret security clearance.

Specialized experience includes: Performing various aviator duties, such as: Pilot, Copilot, Pilot in Command (PI), Instructor Pilot (IP), Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP), Instrument Flight Examiner (IE), Maintenance Test Pilot (MO), or Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner (ME); establishing work schedules, determining priorities, delegating responsibilities, providing feedback to employees, and setting performance standards; assisting with operational budgetary requirements; and providing training in all phases of aviation unit operations, aircraft maintenance and supply functions. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
