Duties
Temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year may be terminated/extended based on management needs. The typical season is May-November, but can vary due to weather, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2024.
This position is a laborer leader assigned responsibility for performing laboring duties that require moderately heavy physical effort requiring the use of common hand tools and power equipment involving any or all of the following duties.
The position provides daily direction to at least three (3) workers to accomplish laborer work on a regular and recurring part of the job and exercised on a substantially full time and continuing basis.
In order to accomplish the laborer duties, the incumbent must on a regular and recurring basis also operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc.) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites located throughout the park.

Ability To Lead or Supervise (SCREEN OUT):I am able to perform and have held jobs in which I performed regular and recurring work leading a crew of workers performing manual labor tasks including using heavy power equipment, e.g., industrial mowers, snow blowers, and tillers. I distributed and balanced workload among crew members, communicated work assignments, demonstrated proper work methods, and monitored work progress. I reported work progress to my supervisor and made recommendations concerning work operations and problems.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
