Duties

Coordinate with the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) under the Secretary of the Army to ensure the IMCOM Strategic Communication Plan is in concert with the Army Vision, Army Transformation and all applicable Army guidelines and policies. Develop master level messages and themes and rationale as they relate overall to IMCOM, Office of Assistant Chief of Staff, Installation Management (OACSIM) and Department of the Army. Incumbent is responsible for developing and executing IMCOM's strategic communications campaign with special emphasis on providing guidance in and exercising responsibility for public affairs policy. Research issues, histories and trends and all other pertinent data to establish a planning baseline. Plan, organize and directs the strategic communications programs in support of major IMCOM missions, projects, programs and strategies using a variety of methods to include, but not limited, to print, broadcast, websites and social media. Supervise two technical positions, either government or contractor. Design methods and processes to codify the public affairs education process to ensure senior leaders maintain currency with agency, Army and DoD themes and messages. Methods will include various forms of Social Media.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
• Incumbent is required to travel moderately to Army CONUS and OCONUS locations, other Army departments and corporate institutions in the performance of these duties.
