About the Position: Serves as Chief, Furnishings Management Office (FMO) with a knowledge of a broad range of supply and housing furnishing management program relationships, inventory and storage management, and property accountability.

Duties

Develop annual and long-range furnishings replacement plan for Unaccompanied Housing (UH) and General Field Officer Quarters (GFOQ) furnishings. Serve as technical representative for Furnishings Management Office (FMO) Contracts. Serve as Property Book Officer, work with units to determine furnishings requirements, inventory and issue /replace furnishings on hand receipts. Work Independently with IMCOM an USACE for Furnishings Management Office (FMO) procurement. Maintain Furnishings Management Office (FMO) system of record e-MH. Oversee the Electronic Turn-In Document System (ETIDS), responsible to work with DLA for coordination / shipment and disposal of unserviceable or excess items. Furnishing Management Office (FMO) supervisor of warehouse personnel, hire, training etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work weekends, evenings and emergency situations as needed outside normal duty hours.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes plan, develop and implementation and coordination a supply management program; monitor requisition and purchase processes; ensure proper storage and handing methods are followed; and prepare reports and correspondences as required. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsManages ResourcesManaging Human ResourcesSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
