This position is located within the Indian Health Service, Wind River Service Unit, Fort Washakie, WY. The purpose of this position is to provide social work services involved in carrying out the IHS Behavioral Health program services. This position reports to the Supervisory Psychologist.
Duties
Interviews and provides social services and assistance of a practical nature to assigned cases.
Takes referrals from medical staff for assessment of an individual of family's social welfare needs. Acts as liaison between health care practitioners, the patient, and the patient's family in order to insure their understanding and compliance with indicated medical care treatment.
Provides ongoing support and teaches practical, problem-solving strategies to individuals with emotional/learning/social problems.
Plans and conducts social services workshops and in-services on mental health and related topics. Compiles and writes reports on social service activities and conditions, including use of EHR documentation, case summaries, etc.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education
Graduate Education: Major study - social sciences. One full academic year of graduate study is qualifying for GS-07. Graduate education is not creditable for positions above the GS-07 level.

Experience
GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Assist in addressing individual and community based behavioral health needs; provide resources to address crisis intervention and advocacy services; responsible in program goals, objectives, and activities; empowering individuals through case management and mentoring programs.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
