To develop, plan, synchronize and orchestrate curriculum-focused efforts and projects. Develops, teaches, and delivers seven PME programs (officer and enlisted) to more than 35,000 active, guard, reserve, sister service, and civilian students worldwide. Focuses on the following subjects: airpower, joint operations and planning, space studies, cyber, leadership, military history or political science, and national/international security studies (or related fields), research and writing.

Duties

Develops, plans, synchronizes, monitors, and reports on curriculum-focused efforts and projects. - Supports internal and external awareness, collaboration, and faculty development related to GCPME programs. Conducts and/or monitors course analysis, development, design, implementation, and evaluation of Global College of PME courses as well as performs adjunct faculty duties. Engages in professional research and writing. Mentors and/or monitors student research efforts.

  • The incumbent may be required to travel by commercial or military conveyance to perform temporary duty.
  • This job is being filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive civil service. This is an Administratively Determined position in the excepted service.

Qualifications

Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions of the organization and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff. Ability to effectively lead teams to design, develop, execute, and evaluate course material. Broad knowledge of educational requirements, instructional methods, and evaluation methods and procedures. Ability to teach graduate-level seminar courses in airpower, joint operations and planning, military history, leadership, space, cyber, political science, and national and international studies. Knowledge of research methods and ability to conduct research in area of expertise. Ability to use educational technology and instructional techniques, especially those appropriate in an online learning environment. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, especially as this applies in the online learning environment. Experience teaching at the graduate level and a record of publications within the field of expertise is desired. The incumbent will be required to teach within a college or school curriculum to support the mission. GCPME programs are interdisciplinary curricula that require a unique synergy of academic and operational expertise for a focus at the appropriate season of military education. Because of this, incumbent may be required to teach across disciplines within the college.
