This position is a Transportation Coordinator at the facility level and acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs. The incumbent works with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Evaluate documents, e.g., sampling plans, permit applications and other data collection form.
Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system.
Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas. Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner.
Responds to "action required" notifications, ensuring the primary providers are correct. Coordinates the day-to-day operation of VTS program flow, processes, and functions.
Collecting, compiling, tracking data and statistical information in support of VTS.
Coordinates service practices that decrease the wait and delays for patients in all speciality areas.
Plans for, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the VTS program.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/11/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-04. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Minimum requirements GS-05: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: preparing written instructions and a variety of correspondence; performing data entry into an automated system; scheduling appointments and admissions; collecting, compiling, and tracking of data; and ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the experience required. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (transcript copy required) OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level.(transcript copy required)
Minimum Requirements GS-06: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing transportation support duties such as coordinating connections/scheduling, documenting travel information; collecting, compiling, and tracking data on a daily basis; Performs a basic analysis of data and generates a variety of reports; entering data into automated tracking data bases; and planning and directing a program that provides support services. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: Exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning; subject to a high volume of work, the needs for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to the work program.
