This position is located at the in the Property & Supply Department, Fort Yuma Service Unit, Winterhaven, CA. The incumbent has responsibilities for Inventory Management Specialist by performing a variety of routine technical duties associated with the property and supply for the service unit. This position reports to the Support Services Supervisor.
Duties
Develop standards and plans; make detailed department studies, analyze information, make recommendations in formulating and developing store stock program.
Review and analyze reports, records, procurement requests and other supply documents to determine the quantities of supply items that can be procured.
Manage and control equipment items, including requirement determination and forecasting, distribution or redistribution of materials.
Conducts annual inventories of all equipment accounts with the local record and the general ledger account of the Area Property & Supply program.
Assists with Government Motor Vehicle check-in and check-out system for the service unit. Maintaining records on maintenance of motor vehicles and prepares monthly motor vehicle usage record and reports.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: With supervision, performs and determines the distribution and control of material in stock and positioning of supplies among the hospital supply area; work with procurement process and requirements for property and supplies. Working knowledge of one or more automated personal property/supply data base to enter, correct and retrieve recurring. OR
Education: At least one (1) full year (18 semester hours) of graduate level education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position OR
Superior Academic Achievement: A Bachelor's degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position with one of the following:
Graduated with at least an overall GPA of 2.95
Graduated with at least a 3.45 GPA in any major or during the last two (2) years of college
Graduated in the top third of the class
Membership in a national scholastic honor society. These honor societies are listed by the Association of College Honor Societies.
Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-07 grade level. To determine if you qualify under this combination first divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18 or by the number of hours your school has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You must provide copies of your graduate transcripts.
GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Working with personal property management program and applying inventory management principles, concepts, and methodologies; working with procurement of supply requirements that are complex in nature due to the diversity of the needs of a major hospital. working with requisitions, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Working knowledge of one or more automated personal property/supply data base(s) to enter, correct, and retrieve recurring reports, to structure/retrieve specialized reports; develop and implement service-wide personal property management procedures, and systems to implement the administration of acquisition, dispositions, economical and efficient utilization, custody, maintenance and accountability processes for inventory and equipment. OR
Education: Completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or LL.B. or J.D., if related OR
Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-09 grade level. Only graduate education in excess of one (1) full year (18 semester hours) of graduate level education may be used to quality for positions GS-9. Note: You must provide copies of your graduate transcripts.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
