Positions are located in the Consolidated Landry at the St. Albans VAECC which is responsible to provide linen and uniforms to the Brooklyn VAMC, St. Albans VAECC, Bronx VAMC, Manhattan ,Northport VAMC, Lyons VAMC, East Orange VAMC, Montrose VAMC and the Castle Point location.

Duties

Surgical packs must be complete with quality linen items in the proper quantity. Must keep records of production of work processed in assigned areas. Operates power marking machines, b-roll ironer, spreader, feedmaster folder, and cross folder. Processes, assembles, and packages surgical sets of linen. Marks and sorts laundry into proper classification for all medical center uniforms and uniforms received from outpatient clinic and prepares all for the washing. Work Schedule: 5:00am to 1:30pm OR 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday; May include weekends and holidays. Position Description Title/PD#: Laundry Worker/PD03874A Physical Requirements: Required to walk, stand, stretch and bend with constant movement of arms and hands. Light to medium lifting is required when pushing baskets or lifting linen such as stacks of sheets. All work is done indoors. Subject to extreme heat temperature and hazardous work on high powered machines. Critical Skill Incentive: Approved
