You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the Finance Department Division of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC.
Duties
You will be responsible for a variety of fiscal and accounting requirements within the financial and budget administration for NCTS Guam.
You will provide accounting maintenance and accounting support work.
You will provide technical work with regards to receipts, disbursements, examinations, deposits, and custody of cash items.
You will conduct examination of documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
You will conduct payroll records maintenance and report completion pertaining to Civilian employees of the Federal Government.
You will confirm the application of administrative rules, regulations, and procedures associated with records, reporting, processing, and keeping track of accounting transactions.
Requirements

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
Application of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify, maintain, reconcile, prepare, and analyze accounts and accounting data
Handling cash items and using cash accountability control methods with regards to receipts, disbursements, examinations, deposits, and custody. Processing purchase requests, funding documents, reconciliation of records and systems, clearing accounting system error transactions
Conducting payroll records maintenance and report completion. Assisting with financial requests and providing advice on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures
Conducting examination of documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services, reimbursements for medical and domiciliary care, education, travel, and transportation
