This position is located at the Uintah and Ouray Clinic, in Fort Duchesne, Utah. Incumbent performs protective services and emergency response work managing the protection of federally owned buildings, government leased buildings, and controlling access to the facilities under the authority of the Uintah and Ouray Clinic. Incumbent reports to the Facility Manager.

Duties

Incumbent patrols installation perimeters to investigate faulty security system equipment, trespassing violations, mitigating unruly personnel and preventing government and personal thefts. Incumbent is responsible for responding to all security threats and contacts appropriate authorities in the event that law enforcement or emergency personnel is required. Relays messages, maintains logs, dispatches personnel and equipment to respond to emergency situations for all emergencies. Incumbent is responsible for responding and communication of emergency situations at the clinic. Monitors and maintains alarm systems, closed circuit televisions systems, telephone dialing systems, and emergency equipment for all emergencies. Incumbent response to all emergency situations such as utility failures, security situations, and emergency responses. Incumbent controls personnel access by monitoring the identification of individuals entering controlled areas. Incumbent refers person who lack proper credentials to a control point to arrange access. Incumbent detains and secures offenders of laws for potential arrest until authorities arrive. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Note: Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. Investigation of Fitness: A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. Medical Requirements: The duties of these positions require moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0085-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months general experience AND six (6) months specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks General Experience: Experience such as administrative, technical, clerical, military, or other work that involved following written procedures, rule, or regulation in contacts with coworkers, supervisor, or members of the public to provide a service, respond to inquiries or obtain information. Specialized Experience: Experiencesuch as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. Experience as a psychiatric nursing assistant or a similar position safeguarding patients is qualifying. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed 2 years of education above high school at an accredited college or university in any subject is fully qualifying. OR TRAINING: Successful completion of training in an accredited technical school that covered subjects such as physical security procedures, local laws, or investigative techniques is considered qualifying for specialized experience at the GS-4 level on a month-for-month basis. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
