You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the SHORE NETWORKS of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will responsible for the overall engineering direction of a large team of engineers spanning the breadth of the Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise System (CANES) portfolio across LANT/PAC.
You will provide technical leadership and direction for engineering oversite across the customer enterprise and will establish/maintain a high level of customer and fleet engagement in coordination all integration and fielding activities/schedules
You will act as the technical point of contact for all (CANES) fielded systems engineering, security and integration concerns.
You will work side-by-side with contractor, government and fleet personnel to ensure all issues related to the systems engineering, system security and systems integration are addressed.
You will serve as a consultant and expert in network information systems and their systems engineering process involving integration, testing, interoperability, security, transition and quality assurance.
You will make key CANES engineering decisions between new/future systems, systems being deployed, and systems that are fielded or nearing end of sustainable life.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 441 level Intermediate (I) within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or ND-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Consulting in network information systems and their systems engineering processes involving integration, testing, interoperability, security, transition and quality assurance.
Your experience in the information technology field must reflect skills in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Oversee the systems engineering artifacts produced and processes implemented in the execution of a program or project.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services, IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Advise and provide support in the resolution of interoperability, interface, platform, and seam issues.
3. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Establish liaison, coordinate and communicate with engineering and management personnel at all levels of leadership.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Assist in the development of systems engineering solutions to mitigate or resolve technical risks and issues.
