Duties

You will work on environmental protection projects of complex scope involving analysis, development, implementation and management of environmental programs assigned at installations within Naval Facilities Engineering command geographical area You will serve as the command technical expert in one or more program or functional areas and also plans, implements, or monitors other listed environmental programs. Provides day-today environmental compliance and oversight. You will perform oversight of compliance status including inspection discrepancies, status of corrective actions, and permit compliance data. You will manage installation aspects of environmental plans and permits, by ensuring compliance with permits issued by local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies. You will assist in developing and submitting permit applications; researching and enforcing permit conditions; developing and implementing permit sampling and testing plans. You will submit monitoring reports; and identify and resolve compliance problems.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the analysis, development, implementation and management of environmental programs; AND performs oversight of environmental compliance status including inspection discrepancies, submission of reports, and identifying and resolving compliance problems. GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, implementing, and providing compliance and oversight of various environmental programs including Hazardous Waste Management/Disposal; Spill Prevention/Recovery; AND technical expertise in coordinating environmental program inspections, participating in negotiations with regulatory agencies, and developing publications for public meetings. Education

GS-11:
master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
