Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately 25 pay periods, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 01/19/2024 whichever comes first. Duties

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform the following duties: Constructs, alters, modifies or repairs a wide range of features in buildings, quarters and other facilities. Operates various carpentry equipment and tools (e.g., routers, band and scroll saws, and drill presses, etc.). Cuts bevels, rabbets, chamfers, grooves, and compound miter joints and applies plastic laminates to wood and other surfaces on counter tops, cabinets, desktops, and tables. Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems. Paints, decorates, and refinishes a variety of interior and exterior surfaces of offices and buildings, family dwellings, other structures. Selects, mixes and tints paint, stain, varnish and preservatives. Maintains, constructs, repairs, and alters a variety of structures and surfaces of brick, block, stone, and other related materials. Performs maintenance, repair, restoration and stabilization of cultural resources. Installs or repairs electrical systems required in the construction or maintenance of family housing units, buildings, quarters, offices, or shops. Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment pertaining to water and wastewater treatment functions.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
