Qualifications

To qualify for this position of Legal Administrative Specialist (Attorney Recruitment Advisor & Counselor), you must meet the qualification requirements listed below by the closing of this announcement:
For GS-13:
Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting with programs that provide professional resources for development and career enhancement (experience with the legal profession is preferred); experience with career counseling, which may include experience with providing resume writing and interviewing skills; representing an organization at seminars, recruiting events, panels, symposiums or similar gatherings providing information; and assisting with implementing or developing effective and strategic talent acquisition or talent management plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
For GS-14:
Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with programs that provide professional resources for development and career enhancement (experience with legal profession is a preferred); experience with career counseling, which may include providing resume writing and interview skills; representing an organization at seminars, recruiting events, panels, symposiums, or similar gatherings providing information; and implementing and developing effective and strategic talent acquisition plans, or involvement with innovative programs or products surrounding employee retention. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Educational Requirement: This position requires knowledge of legal courses, principles, and regulations of the attorney career requirements sufficient to provide career guidance and advice. As such, the selectee must have completed the requirements and received a Juris Doctorate.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
