Job opening: PLUMBER

Salary: $30 - 34 per hour

You will serve as a Plumber in the Public Works Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC ALL PRB3XX.

Duties

You will work on high and low pressure systems such as steam, compressed air lines, water, etc. You will plan and lay out the installation and modification of various systems and equipment, such as the arrangement of water closets, sinks, and fire sprinkler equipment. You will interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, and shop mathematics to determine piping systems and plumbing systems. You will use accepted trade methods and techniques, such as wiping and pouring lead joints, soldering, seating equipment for the proper operation of the systems. You will leverage tools and equipment, such as plumb bots, mercury gauges, dividers, closet augers, hydrostatic pumps, and lead pots.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You may be required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during and/or after special emergency situations, such as but not limited to destructive weather disasters, or periods of increased security threat.
  • You may at any time be reassigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area.
  • You may be assigned to perform tasks in non-trade related fields as an assistant/helper as workload requires.
  • You may be required to serve on-call duty on a rotational basis.
