Duties
You will repair or replace fans, pumps, thermostats, humidistats, motors, compressors, valves, gauges, pneumatic and electric controls, filters, and other related elements.
You will install refrigeration and air conditioning systems by positioning compressors, motors, condensers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, evaporators, heaters, and other components in accordance with design specifications.
You will check elements such as low side and high side pressure, temperature of the cooling units, pressure and temperature of the liquid and suction lines, and the running time of the various mechanisms.
You will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems that provide a variety of functions.
Requirements

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision performing duties such as: 1) Installing, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration systems components to including circulating air and chilled water air conditioning systems, high, medium and low temperature refrigeration systems, and total environmental control systems; 2) Examining, diagnosing malfunctions and making repairs to systems used in complex heating ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems; 3) Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical instructions; and 4) Following all guidelines and procedures pertaining to the use and handling of refrigerants in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.
