You will serve as a TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT in the TOOLS ISSUE CONTROL SHOP (06A), DULL DIVISION (C311), REPAIR DEPARTMENT (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will issue tools to authorized personnel. You will perform visual and/or functional pre-issue checks/testing as required. You will check in tools and determine if/when tools should be sent for tests, repair, and calibration. You will participate in tool room inventories. You will maintain and research tool room inventories.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT NORMAL SUPERVISION: Experience issuing and checking in tools to and from authorized personnel; Experience performing visual and functional pre-issue checks and testing as required; Experience recommending substitute tools in instances where requested tools are unavailable, Experience determining if and when tools should be sent for test, repair, and calibration; Experience performing minor tool repairs and maintenance; Experience maintaining a neat, clean, safe, and organized tool room area; Experience receiving and checking in new tools and marks with appropriate facility identification numbers; Experience participating in tool room inventories; Experience interpreting instructions, specifications, etc. in performing tools and parts attendant work; and Experience identifying and utilizing various tools.
