About the Position: Serve as a Senior Electronics Technician specializing in electronic and electrical systems and components at a large area office with support also provided to other field sites and an additional navigation lock location throughout the District with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit Operations Division, duty location Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Duties
Works under the general supervision of the Section Chief who provides an outline of the objectives to be accomplished.
Serves as the Senior Electronics Technician, aligns, calibrates, fabricates, creates and modifies control system code, operates, troubleshoots, repairs, specializing in electronic, electrical systems and components and electronic security systems.
Test frequency meters, deviation monitors, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, audio oscillators, diode/transistor testers, spectrum analyzers, sweep generators, wattmeters, VSWR meter and others.
Ensures continuous internal review of the quality of technical and administrative service procedures and functions covering all aspects of the maintenance management program.
Is senior employee in charge during field assignments when one or more electronics technician employees are assigned to assist incumbent.
Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information, and coordinates the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
Assists with the development of policies and regulations. Participates in the resolution of special problems requiring quality assurance investigations.
Provides input regarding equipment selection, installation, scheduling, testing, and modifications to insure compatibility with existing equipment and systems operational requirements.
Requirements

- Appointment will require a Secret clearance.
- A pre-employment and annual physical is required due to the physical and working conditions of the position.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R "Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program".

Qualify GS12:
Specialized Experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes utilizing Security and Closed Circuit TV programs; installing electronic equipment to include test equipment (I.e., C-Cure software, Closed Circuit TV software, Digital Video Recorders (DVR); planning and ordering equipment; scheduling repairs and maintenance; preparing quotes for facilities; managing team assignments, projects, problem solving, and/or program issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
