As a Locksmith, WG-4804-10 you will be responsible for the installation, removal, and maintenance of wood and metal, laboratory, office and general entrance doors in the Maryland Facilities Management Branch (MFMB).
Duties
As a Locksmith, you will:
Perform duties of the carpenter trade using power, wood and metal working tools, machines, and techniques.
Inspect and maintain panic hardware (electronic door closers of low voltage), hinges, lock sets, latches, knobs, weather stripping, door frames, sashes, low voltages electronic door controls, relays, switches, and door bolts.
Troubleshoot sophisticated electromagnet, panic, and fire door devises, which contain electronic components that compensate for heat with fixed temperature and rate of rise features.
Repair and maintain roll-up doors.
Inspect and repair card-key security systems, fire alarms and security systems and alarms.
Assist journeyman level mechanics in the fields of carpentry, electric, HVAC/R, plumbing, pipefitting, masonry, and grounds maintenance.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position.
