The Air Traffic Organization (ATO) has 35,000 controllers, technicians, engineers, and support personnel whose daily efforts keep aircraft safe, separated, and on time. Flight Program Operations (FPO) is responsible for all aspects of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aircraft operations and maintenance, flight safety, and flight program administration. The FPO holds operational control of all flight program operations and implements standardized flight control programs for FAA aircraft.

Duties

The Deputy Vice President (DVP), Flight Program Operations provides advice and guidance on all aspects of FAA flight program safety, administration, operations, training, maintenance, and policy. The DVP oversees multiple missions including FAA aircraft to include aviation safety training; flight inspection; research, development, test and evaluation support; critical event response; and transportation.

Qualifications

Include in your description ways that you applied long-range vision, developed strategies, and applied innovative ideas and techniques.TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT: Experience leading, overseeing, and providing strategic direction in support of a civil aviation organization operated in accordance with 41 CFR Part 102 and either 14 CFR Part 121 or 135, responsible for managing all aspects of flight operations (policy and guidance development, maintenance, flight training, flight standardization, aircraft acquisition and disposal, and research and development).
