Duties
Resolve rejects and discrepancies associated with an account to accurately compute pay.
Resolve complex cases involving pay and allowances, bonuses, special pays and the computation of taxes withheld in prior years.
Perform processing reviews and audits military pay and allowance entitlement to maintain account accuracy for members.
Verify the accuracy of the overpayment and coordinates with Financial Services personnel for a decision on the waiver
Participate in special projects involving detailed or complex pay processing.
Assist with on-the-job training for junior technicians.
Assist in audits involving the DJMS.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S Citizen or National
- Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959)
- Suitable for federal employment
- Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Reviewing and processing a wide variety of complex payroll transactions; determining entitlements, examining, verifying all documents for propriety, completeness and accuracy, reviewing and processing final actions to resolve various complicated payroll problems or issues using a variety of techniques.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Education
GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: One (1) year of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when education is
directly related to the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
