This position serves as the administrative coordinator for the Director, Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) at the Seattle VA Medical Center.
Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintains a comprehensive and orderly file system for the Director;
Develops and maintains a database for Diagnostic Imaging workload and prepares reports;
Receives and controls incoming correspondence;
Routes mail to the appropriate section;
Screens phone calls and visitors;
Composes and proofreads outgoing correspondence;
Assists with travel arrangements;
Provides resource material and assistance to administrative support staff;
Performs other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm

Qualifications
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

To qualify for this position, you must have: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is performing clerical/administrative duties in an office environment; receiving visitors and answering telephone calls; scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars; collecting, compiling, and tracking data; and composing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communications assuring format accuracy (e.g., grammar, punctuation, spelling, attachments, etc.) Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates.
