About the Position: This position is located at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Santa Barbra, CA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Duties

Provide comprehensive analysis and evaluation services for implementation and management of TRICARE programs. Implement a program to monitor all initiatives and agreements within the Beneficiary Services and provider relations element. Optimize use of available resources to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the organization in line with TRICARE mandates. Ensure administrative and medical policies involving TRICARE are compatible with and integrated into the medical treatment facilities' requirements and policies. Act as beneficiary advocate to resolve issues and Improve customer service, satisfaction, and beneficiary education. Plan and coordinate measures for trouble-shooting TRICARE and Military Health System issues and concerns. Implement new marketing material or update/improve existing material to ensure that the most current and accurate information is being distributed.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with health care programs (such as TRICARE) to ensure compliance and compatibility of program operations and support activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
