About the Position: This position is located in the S3I Directorate / Technical Management Division / Defense Systems. Duties

Serve as Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a weapon system. Provide technical direction, oversight, and leadership in all phases of the weapon system life cycle. Provide technical oversight for system / product requirements, oversee weapon system / system of system design, development, integration, test and/or fielding efforts. Coordinate technical activities and provide technical support for acquisition program decisions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Selectee will be required to complete a OGE 450, Financial Disclosure at the time of their appointment, and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to DB-03 pay band or equivalent grade level in Federal service performing the following: leading and applying software engineering processes to the acquisition of weapon systems, executing and monitoring project cost, performance, and schedule, applying Department of Defense/Service specific acquisition processes on complex weapon systems, communicating across a wide range of audiences, and providing technical leadership to multi-functional teams.
