This position is in the Special Events office, reporting to the Head of Special Events. The primary purpose of the work in this position is to assist with the preparation of guest lists, invitation mailings and event seating for events sponsored by the Gallery, such as dinners, luncheons, and receptions.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-0301-09.
For this position, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-9 level in the Federal service, managing the day-to-day operations of the office of Special Events, including travel coordination, travel authorization and voucher processing, document production and tracking, file and mail management, administrative support, and coordination of selected activities.

Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria: Incumbent must be able to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.

Knowledge of National Gallery of Art protocol, policies, procedures, and goals as they relate to the function of the Office of Special Events to include a working knowledge of U.S. Government and foreign diplomatic mission structures and operations and ability to identify name, rank, and precedence according to rules of protocol to ensure appropriate event seating.
Comprehensive knowledge and skill in the application of qualitative/quantitative methods and the ability to perform analyses, assemble and evaluate information for reports and solve budget, communication, and other problems sufficient to meet administrative and business needs.
Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and Gallery budget processes, policies, procedures, and regulations sufficient to ensure that budget estimates, projections, and submissions conform to requirements, guidelines, and financial objectives.
